This marks the first international competition for the athletes from St. Petersburg. The gymnasts finished second at the Russian Championships, earned a spot on the National team's main roster, and received the opportunity to represent the country on the international stage.

In one part of her hoop routine, Eva Kononova from the Tyumen Region ran out of time to complete the transition. Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva quickly identified the cause, it was a delay in the previous element that prevented her from maintaining the desired tempo. Together with fellow gymnast and coach Evgeniya Eliseeva, she analyzed the issue and helped her perform part of the routine more dynamically.
