EVGENIYA CUP-2023
Omsk hosted EVGENIYA CUP, the international tournament named to honor Evgenia Kanaeva on April 28-30.
Gymnasts from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Cuba and 13 Russian regions took part in the international competition named after the two-time Olympic champion. Among the seniors, Alina Harnasko from Belarus became the winner, Diana Chugunikhina from Russia took the silver medal, and Elizaveta Zorkina from Belarus won the bronze medal. Russian athlete Victoryia Chumakova won the junior tournament, her compatriot Uliana Ianus came in second, and Belarusian gymnast Nikole Keuliak came in third. In group exercises among juniors in the final with both five ropes and five balls, the Belarusian team won first place, the Russian team took second place, with the team from the Krasnoyarsk Region coming in third.
Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva was the tournament guest of honor and world champion Yana Batyrshina and Dmitry Guberniev hosted the event.
