Alina Kabaeva helps Arina Kovshova use the apparatus during fouettés better

02.05.2026. Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva regularly works with the Academy gymnasts. Take a look at how she helped Arina Kovshova from the Novosibirsk Region prepare for the European Cup, where the gymnast won a silver medal with the hoop.

During one of her training sessions, Alina Kabaeva noticed that Arina was having difficulty using the apparatus during fouettés. Together with Academy coaches Elizaveta Chernova, Olga Minigalina, Olga Frolova, and choreographer Kirill Barkan, the Olympic champion helped her find an alternative.

Ksenia Savinova from Gatchina, a European Cup champion with the hoop, ball, and teammate with Yana Zaikina from Volgograd, also participated in the creative process.

In addition to the silver, Arina also won gold in the ball routine. She is the standing Russian champion, a member of the National team main roster, and she lives, studies and trains at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
