A new coach, Zlata Tulubaeva, has started working at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
She shared her first impressions after meeting the Academy students.
"The girls are very talented, with a great desire to work. I think that these girls have a very good potential, all of them. The most important thing is the work ethic. That they have. They want it, and that desire goes above everything," she said.
The coach noted that she really likes to create programs for athletes, and explained how the interaction between the coach and the gymnast takes place when setting up a new exercise.
"I really like it because this is my life. This is a work in progress, most likely by the director and the gymnast. You access the gymnast, what she can do, you also immediately see her type, what music suits her, what movements. Each gymnast is an absolute individual. Some of them are classical, chamber gymnasts. There are gymnasts for whom an upbeat tempo is more suitable. You look at a gymnast and if you have the opportunity to have her choose and choreograph an exercise, this, of course, is the best way. But the most important thing, of course, is that the gymnast likes the music. If the gymnast likes the music, she will do what you want," Zlata said.
Zlata Tulubaeva is a USSR master of sports, 11-time champion of Kyrgyzstan and an international judge.
