“We’re bursting into the new season!” Irina Dzyuba about the return of students to the Academy after the holidays

Academy coach and 1996 Olympic Games bronze medalist Irina Dzyuba shared her impressions of meeting up with colleagues and students after the New Year holidays.
“Everyone had a break, almost everyone had more than a week’s worth of rest, seven or eight, some nine days. Everyone went home, everyone came back. We are busting into the new season,” Irina said.
She added that everyone was happy to come back to the Academy and each other:
“Personally, we, as the coaching staff, missed everyone very much. Well, judging by the girls, everyone was happy to see each other. It felt like an eternity had passed. We’re very happy to see each other,” the coach said.
She also talked about the nearest plans for the gymnasts.
“We started training, the girls started school. So far we don’t have any major competitions in the near future, so they will study well. Now we will work to improve the programs. We will change some of them, we are planning something fresh, we have started selecting music, we are waiting for several directors,” she said.
