Academy students laid flowers to the Memorial Sign for workers of the Southern Crops state-owned farm

Students of the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy honored the memory of heroes on the Victory Day.

The athletes took part in laying flowers to the Memorial Sign for workers of the Southern Crops state-owned farm that died in years of the Great Patriotic War.

Head of the Administration of the Sirius Federal Territory Dmitry Plishkin attended the ceremony. He addressed all those coming to pay tribute to the memory of the heroes:  

“Dear friends, today is an anniversary, 80 years since that very victory, which became a symbol of courage for our country.”

The significance of their feat was also underscored by Elena Shmeleva, the Chairperson of the Sirius Federal Territory Council:

“It was a victory achieved by absolutely the entire nation. And the heroism at the front lines was in tune with the heroism in the home front.”
