Training camp for gymnasts from different Russian regions is under way at the Academy

The judokas from the Republic of Congo won medals at the 1st African School Games 2025, which were taking place in Algeria from August 1 to 5.Mankala Oilantama Symphora Chance won the bronze medal in the 52 kg category, and Mpiaya Massala Divine came in third in the 57 kg category.In preparation for the competition, the athletes came to Sirius for training sessions organized with the support of the Russian Judo Federation, the international autonomous non-profit organization Africa Centrum, and the Martial Arts Academy.&nbsp;The results are available on the competition <a href="https://www.ijf.org/competition/3091/judoka_athletes" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">website</a>.&nbsp;

Coach Elizaveta Zorkina told us how the Academy conducted its first screening of children for the preschool education groups.&nbsp;<blockquote>"We had our first selection of schoolchildren. 18 girls came. Some are very good, flexible,&nbsp;already&nbsp;coordinated. It is obvious that they have trained somewhere. Some come who have not trained at all. And, probably, they still need to finetune their skills, improve their physical abilities a little. I really liked one girl there. I am&nbsp;recruiting into the&nbsp;2022 group. In addition to the fact that we looked at the girls, they are also checked over by a psychologist and doctors so that they are prepared for training. The selection will take place throughout August, every Friday from 5-6pm. Come if you want to study with us," Elizaveta said.&nbsp;</blockquote>The selection takes place every Friday from 17:00 to 18:00. The Academy of Martial Arts held the first selection of children to the judo and sambo groups, which is this year not only for preschoolers but also for athletes from 7 to 14 years old.Judo coach Evgeny Ivanov explained after the views how the program will be organized for children over seven:<blockquote>"We are enrolling preschoolers, children from 3.5 to 7 years old, and schoolchildren aged from 7 to 14 years. Starting this year, schoolchildren will study, learn, and train with us. Their classes will take place three times a week for an hour and a half. The athletic training program for schoolchildren is already starting, it's a more serious work, they will learn to throw, cast down and wrestle. In fact, preschoolers quickly grasp the program so to say, and they will rapidly catch up with those children that are already learning, studying with the use of our program."</blockquote>Mom Elena Bolashova told why she brought her son Dobrynya to the selection:<blockquote>"We actually learned completely by chance. We started asking around, finding out about sports training for kids. We became interested. Of course, the outfit, everything is all top-notch. And we wanted as a priority for our child to be engaged in some sports related to wrestling. First and foremost is good physical training, and probably equally important for us is the socialization of the child; this is acquaintance, this is communication with the coach."</blockquote>And another participant, Aramais Shaginyan, shared his first impressions of the Academy of Martial Arts:<blockquote>"I decided to slightly change direction, I decided to shift from MMA to sambo. I lived in Adler, now I moved to Sirius and I want to get here now, to the Martial Arts Academy. I think the level here will be higher than in other centers."</blockquote>Selections are held every Friday from 17:00 to 18:00 PM.

Choreographer Artur Nureev summed up the results of the third session of the Alla Dukhova TODES dance studio workshop and spoke about the details of organizing the final event:<blockquote>"I think that all of our studio members gained a lot of experience, found new friends, and, of course, improved their dancing skills. Every time we come here, we have a new group of teachers. At the very beginning of the session, we have a selection process, we find our studio members who have such leadership qualities, and they pick up a team for themselves based on age. There are children of all ages. And they prepare, select the music in advance, we supervise them a little, correct them from our experience. And they prepare their battle throughout the entire session. In other words, a competition to see who can dance better in their own peculiar style."</blockquote>The final of the third session of the Alla Dukhova TODES dance studio workshop took place at the Martial Arts Academy. In addition to the flash mob, the participants staged dance battles, where they improvised to unfamiliar music.

Milena Shchenyatskaya won bronze in the all-around, as well as in the hoop, ball, and clubs events at the Crystal Rose international tournament.The athlete evaluated her performance:<blockquote>"Overall, I am satisfied with my performances, but we will continue to work hard, improve, and make our programs more difficult."</blockquote>Milena also noted that she is interested in competing with gymnasts from Belarus:<blockquote>"It's very interesting to compete. In the mornings, I came to the hall and watch every day how the girls work; I am amazed at how their work with apparatus is cool. This is what we should strive for."</blockquote>She also revealed the secret of her courage when performing risky elements:<blockquote>"Ever since I was a child, as soon as Antonina Kuznetsova took me for training, we gradually learned something difficult together. This is very long and painstaking work. As for courage, the audience energizes me; I enjoy surprising the audience."</blockquote>Milena also said that she would like to participate in tournaments of the Sky Grace International Clubs Association in the new season:<blockquote>"Of course, God willing. I always enjoy coming to these competitions."</blockquote>

Kiki XuJing, the organizer of the Brilliant Cup 2025 tournament, shared the details of the competition in Shanghai:<blockquote>"This year we are holding the tournament for the ninth time. Next year the event will celebrate its anniversary, its tenth season. These competitions saw a record number of participants in the entire history of the tournament. Over 600 athletes from more than 50 clubs took part in the competition. The participants included representatives of the Russian Sky Grace Academy, as well as athletes from Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand."&nbsp;</blockquote>The specialist also told why they wanted so much to see our gymnasts at the tournament:<blockquote>"We invited the Sky Grace team because the Russian school of rhythmic gymnastics is recognized as the strongest in the world. We sincerely strive to ensure that young Chinese gymnasts can watch world-class athletes performing and learn from their experience directly in China. We believe that the skills of such a class are of the great educational value."</blockquote>

Alina Harnasko won the all-around and all individual finals at the Crystal Rose tournament and became the absolute champion of the competition in Minsk.&nbsp;The gymnast shared what the Crystal Rose tournament means to her:<blockquote>"It is hard to imagine for me what the time already is for my performances at the Crystal Rose tournament. This is the memory for me, it is the tournament where I was growing, where I was improving, and where I so nicely keep the level over the years. I am very pleased that the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy highlights our tournament as the first one, the most memorable, such international one. It is friendly indeed; everybody talks about that."</blockquote>She also talked about the new ribbon program:<blockquote>"I nicely ended the fourth event in the program with the ribbon. I have revamped my leotard before this competition: I have created such back where I have the fire, where I have the flame and the entire design of my exercise. So lyrically and so beautifully, and very memorable for me."</blockquote>The athlete also named her main motivation:<blockquote>"The big passion for my work is probably the greatest motivation. This is what drives me, this is what holds me here, for what I am here."</blockquote>
