An assessment session was held at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy according to the rules of the Sky Grace tournament. These rules are much more complicated than the international ones, because they do not limit athletes and allow them to show their maximum potential.
Four Academy gymnasts performed exercises with objects - Karolina Tarasova, Ksenia Savinova, Elvira Belyaeva and Maria Myasnikova. The performance was attended by coach Irina Dzyuba.
“Initially, I really liked the rules, the very idea of the Academy. The way Alina sees rhythmic gymnastics is very close to the way that I do. This, as I call it, is a new version of rhythmic gymnastics by Alina Kabaeva,” Irina said.
According to her, the Sky Grace tournament rules are much better suited for Russian gymnasts.
“This is a combination of all the most interesting aspects. At the same time, they have very interesting elements, unique ones. These rules give children more opportunities to open up, while the international rules are very restrictive. Everyone knows this now; it's not a secret to everyone. And our Russian gymnasts have always stood out based on their physical abilities and unique elements,” Irina said.
Currently, the Academy gymnasts are preparing for the international tournament, which will be held in Minsk in August.
