The Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy hosted an assessment training session for three athletes training in Sochi.
It was attended by Donetsk gymnast Karolina Tarasova, who performed with four objects, and two gymnasts from Gatchina - Elvira Belyaeva and Ksenia Savinova, who performed two exercises each.
The gymnasts' programs were evaluated by Academy coaches Olesya Kovaleva, Anna Ustsova and Olga Frolova.
In the course of training, Karolina Tarasova, together with coach Olga Frolova, made adjustments to her program. For example, the coach explained to a young athlete that in order to perform a more expensive element, a combination, the gymnast needs to rise during the balance on the relevé.
After the performances, the gymnasts shared their impressions.
”It’s fine for first day run-throughs. It’s hard because after the holidays we started to have hard work-outs,” said Ksenia Savinova.
Elvira Belyaeva also noted that despite the good performance, it was not easy for her.
“It was difficult, because they didn’t do run-throughs before that. It was also difficult because the new program was made yesterday, and you can’t change from the old one to the new,” she said.
In August, Academy gymnasts Karolina Tarasova, Elvira Belyaeva and Ksenia Savinova will take part in an international tournament in Minsk.
