The first training camps were held at the Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics "Sky Grace", which opened in December 2022. The participants were athletes from Volgograd, Saransk, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik and Sochi.
As part of the training camp, a master class for young athletes was held by Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva. After it, the gymnasts received gifts and heard parting words. "There is no such complex in the world. And such happiness that our children and in our country have. When I was young, I couldn't even dream of such opportunities. But, as they say, the impossible is possible," she noted.
From above, the Academy resembles a gymnastic hoop. The basis of the sports complex is training and choreographic halls. It is the place where the future stars of Russia are preparing. There are six training carpets in the hall, on which 90 gymnasts can practice at the same time. The dimensions are amazing: the total area is almost 2300 square meters, and the ceiling height is 19 meters, which allows you to throw the apparatus high.
"The hall is great. Bright, big, beautiful. A large number of training grounds, one competition ground. Of course, we don't have such halls in Gelendzhik. This is the principle when everything is in one place, it helps a lot, concentrates on the best work, it is very convenient," said Alina Dimitriadi, a rhythmic gymnastics coach from Gelendzhik.
