The Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy in Sochi will host a training camp scheduled for March 21 to 31. Gymnasts born in 2014 and older who represent regional children’s and youth sports schools will take part.
The training camp will be held at the new Sky Grace sports center on the Sirius federal territory located on the Black Sea coast. The facility is the most modern rhythmic gymnastics center in the world, and was opened in December 2022.
The training camp will be led by Elena Karpushenko, the personal coach of Yana Kudryavtseva – the youngest ever world all-around champion and a silver medallist at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The coaching staff will also include Oksana Skaldina, an Olympic bronze medallist in the individual all-around and multiple world and European champion, and Elena Shalamova – a gold medalist at the 2000 Sydney Games in the group event and world and European title holder.
The training camp’s program includes choreography classes, special physical training and apparatus manipulation, general physical preparation (GPP) and acrobatics. Participants will also have an opportunity to improve their own routines.
The training camp’s main goal is to popularize and develop rhythmic gymnastics, including at regional level, as well as to increase the level of skills and improve the general and special physical conditioning of young athletes.
