Academy coach Olesya Kovaleva sums up the results of the first months of training for preschoolers

Olesya Kovaleva, coach at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, summed up the results of the first months of training in additional education groups for preschoolers.
“We’ve already become friends, all the coaches and the girls. They are accustomed to this wonderful environment, to these conditions and to the schedule too,” Olesya said.
She explained how the youngest students are trained.
“We use various gymnastic objects. In today's lesson we used tambourines, since rhythmic gymnastics was originally artistic gymnastics. Gymnasts move quickly, slowly, at an average pace. And so the kids with tambourines and I tried to figure out how to tap the tambourine quickly, and how to tap it slowly. That develops the very sense of rhythm and sound perception too,” the coach said.
The coach also announced the production of the first children’s program.
“We’re getting ready for an open lesson. The girls do a dance with scarves and also learn an exercise without an object. It is, of course, very simple, with simple, basic elements, but it is already a kind of preparation for their future athletic career,” she said.
The additional education groups for preschoolers opened at the Academy in September.
