Judge and coach Marina Shpekht talking about the work on the Sky Grace rules

International category judge and Academy coach Marina Shpekht has told us in detail about the idea of creating new rules of the Sky Grace International Association of Clubs.

"More than once Alina Kabaeva said in her interviews that sports should not be drowned out. The Olympic motto: Faster, higher, stronger! But it turns out that now there are competitions that are held according to the rules of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). For these competitions, the gymnasts were made equal. They have a small number of elements. They cannot perform any complex elements, because they have become very cheap and this is not to their benefit. They have no interest in performing any complex catches or mastery because they are set equal to more ordinary ones."

The professional also noted that new rules focus on unique features and audience appeal, to help the gymnasts to unlock their potential.

"We tried to create the symbiosis of both the apparatus and the elements of the body, so that the gymnast truly becomes unique. Therefore, we increased the estimate of the cost of complex elements, certain throws, added new capabilities, added new transitions so that it is possible to connect elements not only while standing on one leg, but also, for example, to connect turns with turns through a step. This is also very interesting to make it more spectacular. Rules of the International Federation (FIG) limited the gymnasts’ possibilities because almost all gymnasts do the same thing. The same elements, the same risks, the same catches. But we tried to diversify it."

Rules will be complemented further on, Marina Shpekht added.

"We will listen to the opinions of legendary coaches and figures who are currently working. We will make changes and additions based on this. Perfection has no limit. We must still strive to ensure that it is truly spectacular, beautiful, and truly shows all the possibilities of gymnastics that they are trying to deprive us of."

The lecture for coaches on the new rules of the Sky Grace International Association of Clubs took place in the Academy before the start of the Games of Countries international tournament.
