"They are learning something at every training session." Academy Coach Olesya Kovaleva assesses progress of preschoolers in the Academy

Coach Olesya Kovaleva told us after the next training session about what preschoolers had already learned in the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.

She noted progress of young students.

"I am very excited specifically with this group, born in 2016–2018. The girls are diligent. We have good progress in learning skills: jumps, balances, training with objects and practicing turns. They are learning something step by step, at every training session. They have already learned exercises without object, with the jump rope, and started practicing with the hoop. We have the object training every day, every workout." 

The professional explained how the training sessions are conducted and what home task is given to preschoolers.

"We always have a game at the end of the workout, a topical one, with an object, and so on. We vary them every workout, either a relay or a game. Marks are set. Comments on the behavior are recorded sometimes but if everything is in order, we request them to have certain skills reinforced at home. Not to learn but exactly to reinforce. Then they come to a workout — we check the home assignment. This is very helpful to focus, to organize and to understand immediately, in time, what is a weak point for a child — a split to a certain leg, let’s say. We will know what to work on."

Additional educational groups for preschool children started their activities in the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy in September.
