Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva continues to work with the Academy gymnasts ahead of the new season

After the Gracia Fair Cup tournament, Ksenia Savinova summed up the results of the competition. She talked about her friendship with gymnasts from other countries:<blockquote>"I really enjoyed competing here, it's not my first time here. And I had a lot of support from girls from other countries at these competitions. I was really pleased that people were rooting for me here. I know Alisa Rosenberg from Israel. We met at the AEON Cup in Japan. And it's really cool that we became friends and can hang out here."</blockquote>The gymnast noted the support of coach Evgenia Eliseeva and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva:<blockquote>"We just had a competition at the Academy, and afterwards we worked on our mistakes so we wouldn't repeat them at this competition. And I think it turned out pretty well. But there's still work to be done. Evgeniya Mikhailovna psyched me up before the performance, telling me every time I made a mistake after the routine and telling me to brace myself so she could see the floor burning through the camera. I felt like she was telling me the mistakes in my head, which helped me. Thanks to Alina Maratovna for calling, telling us the mistakes, and praising us. Thank you to everyone who came with us to this competition and who cheered for us at the Academy. I'm so pleased that the doctors, choreographers, and coaches are helping us."</blockquote>Ksyusha also named the gymnasts whose exercises she particularly remembered:<blockquote>"I really remember Ulyana Janus's new routine with the ball. I really liked it and how she did it at the competition. And I really liked Milena Shchenyatskaya's new ball routine, too, and how she did it."</blockquote>At the Gracia Fair Cup tournament, the gymnast became the best in the all-around and all-around finals. Gracia Fair Cup organizer Irina Berek noted the valuable experience our juniors and seniors gained at the international competition in Hungary:<blockquote>"We've had the girls before, we've seen them, we know them. But now they've competed at FIG competitions, which was really, really exciting for everyone. I wish the girls more competitions like this, because they're already known, they're loved. And the judges also said it was very beautiful; it's been a long time since they've experienced such a sense of true beauty and true competition."</blockquote>The specialist assessed the performances of the participants:<blockquote>"The girls who performed here are all different, individualistic. The juniors, of course, need to train their spirit so they can perform and make the floor shine. And the junior who masters herself and does everything she can will be the first. Because everyone has unique talents, elements, compositions, but they need to be executed. And for the juniors, this is the first task: they learn to cope with anxiety and show what they can do. As for the seniors, all our judges are unanimous — each one is more beautiful than the last. And it's very interesting to watch, when you sit and get goosebumps. We really enjoyed it."</blockquote>The tournament in the Hungarian capital was held under the auspices of World Gymmastics. Our athletes competed under neutral status.&nbsp;

The Academy has a new general fitness coach - Alina Baranovskaya from St. Petersburg. She is a medalist at the 2022, 2023, and 2024 Russian Rowing Championships and an international Master of Sports in streetlifting.&nbsp;During one of the training sessions, why she is interested in coaching the Academy's gymnasts and what she plans to work on with them:<blockquote>"I've been involved in sports since I was 12 years old. I was a professional athlete for 12 years, and I still do, just not at a professional level. I've been working with children for about five years now, and my main goal is their health. It's a creative outlet, it's the development of talent. It's wonderful to watch the children's progress. I really want to strengthen everyone's feet and posture. The main problem children have from early on is their feet turning inward. And if there are problems with the feet, it then spreads to the knees, and from the knees, to the spine. I want to improve their health to minimize injuries. I want them to become more agile, more resilient, faster, and stronger. All of this combined will yield great results on the floor."</blockquote>

After the international Gracia Fair Cup tournament, Karolina Pakhtusova told why it was valuable for her to compete in competitions, and thanked everyone who helped her prepare:<blockquote>"You have to be better every time you compete. My hoop routine was much better this time. I tried to correct the mistakes I made before. Every competition is like a celebration. You have to enjoy it. A huge thank you to my coaches, choreographers, Alina Maratovna and all the Academy staff."</blockquote>She told how she saved the risk in the clubs exercise and what advice Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva gave her:<blockquote>"I throw, realizing it’s behind me. I start, naturally, doing somersaults without making any progress. I realize it’s still behind me, and I start trying to get closer. I was focused. As Alina Maratovna says, 'You have to throw and watch, and keep your eye on the club until the end'."</blockquote>Karolina Pakhtusova won bronze in the all-around at the Gracia Fair Cup in the junior women's program. The Gracia Fair Cup tournament was the first international competition of the season not just for our gymnasts but also for judge Ekaterina Lots.The specialist shared her impressions of the performances of the participants:<blockquote>"Quite a few gymnasts from different countries came. There are strong gymnasts who are competing and vying for prizes. Gymnasts from other countries score points mainly in turns: attitude turns, arabesque turns. Standard elements and complex risks. Gymnasts throw according to many criteria and catch without visual control, without using their hands. It's quite complex and impressive."</blockquote>She also named the athletes who stood out:<blockquote>"Among the international junior gymnasts, I liked Alisa Rosenberg from Israel. She's quite promising, in my opinion. She has good physical attributes and artistic flair. I think she has a bright future. I liked Viola Sella from Italy. She executed her turn elements quite well, an attitude turn and an arabesque turn. Among our gymnasts, Ksenia Savinova stood out in the juniors, winning the overall title at the competition. Our senior gymnasts performed quite well, demonstrating a good, respectable level. Vladislava Sharonova stood out for her artistry. The chief judge of the Gracia Fair Cup, Lyubov Alexandrova, spoke in more detail about the tournament and its special features this year:<blockquote>"The Gracia Fair Cup is an annual tournament for us, it's already our thirty-second. It's a very highly rated tournament in our country. We love it because we all see the gymnasts compete. There are 24 countries and 61 clubs participating in it. Thank you very much to everyone who came. They were very impressive athletes, both juniors and seniors."</blockquote>The specialist also shared her impressions of the performances of our gymnasts and other participants:<blockquote>"Yana Zaikina's hoop routine was very memorable. Ksyusha Savinova swam through the hoop in one breath. Seniors: Vladislava Sharonova, Milena Schenyatskaya, Ulyana Janus. Viola Sella from Italy had very good routines; she does the turns very well. I really liked Alisa Rosenberg. The routines, everything was so fluid. There's competition, which is very nice. First of all, it's artistry.
