New choreographer Elena Egorova joined the coaching staff of the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy. She will help athletes in putting together their programs and practicing dance moves.
She shared her impressions of the first choreography lessons with the Academy gymnasts.
"I liked it very much. They listened very carefully and memorized everything, tried to do what I asked of them. Of course, not everything worked out, but I think that in a few weeks, we will get enough from each other. We have already begun to establish both visual and emotional contact. We listen to each other," Elena said.
She said that she got involved in rhythmic gymnastics thanks to a close friend who invited her to help the athletes put together exercises.
"I really liked it, and I started working with girls in rhythmic gymnastics. The particulars of the work are amazing! Especially when we start working with objects, we get carried away, we begin to adapt to them," she said.
Elena added that her favorite objects are the ribbon and the ball, as well as clubs with which you can choreograph fiery performances.
She also talked about her emotions from getting to know the Academy.
"There is an incredible difference between where I used to work and now when I came here. All the equipment is available, amazing choreography halls, mirrors everywhere. It is very convenient to work, to explain to the girls where to look, when, why".
