Cuban gymnasts talk about coaches' advice after a test training session at the Academy

The Cuban gymnasts had a test training session at the training camp at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.

Isabella Rojas talked about what she is working on with the staff and also highlighted the main advantages of the Russian gymnasts.

"I am very happy to be here again, to be training with the same coaches as during my first visit. Now I already feel better, I am practicing my skills in the exercise, I am trying to improve the purity of execution, but there is still a lot of work ahead, and that is why I came here.  I really like the Russian gymnasts’ execution, the purity, the artistry, they have very good leg lines, absolutely amazing foot shape," Isabella said.

Daliana Concepcion shared the important advice she received from the Academy coaches and shared the words she learned in Russian.

"Even if the beginning was unsuccessful, you need to gather your strength and go to the end at the limit of your capabilities, since it is unknown what the results of other gymnasts will be. I set myself a goal and started learning Russian words back in Cuba such as please, well done, go ahead, good morning, good afternoon, good evening," the gymnast said.

Maria Carla Amaya-Thomasen added what comments the coaches made to her during the control training session.

"I need to improve my artistry, my character. As for the exercise, here I need to get into character. Show what I learned in training. Of course, I would love to come back here again," she said.

She noted that she likes the Academy gymnast Mariia Borisova.

"I know Mariia Borisova, we saw her at competitions in Moscow and cheered for her here," she said.

All expenses for the Cuban gymnasts’ training camp have been recovered by the Academy.
