Ksenia Savinova starts training at the Academy after returning from Beijing

Ksenia Savinova from Gatchina began her training at Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy after coming back from China.

The gymnast began preparing for the qualifying competitions of the Spartak athletic society, which will be held in September in Saransk. Based on the results of the selection process, the best athletes will go to the All-Russian Young Gymnasts tournament.

​​Coach Evgenia Eliseeva spoke about how they plan to work with Ksenia in the future.

"First there will be a selection process, then you need to enter the strongest children of the society list. Then we go with the Spartak team to Young Gymnasts. Spartak is a very strong society, so of course we are preparing, working hard. We have two weeks to adjust to the Russian rules. This, in fact, after FIG turns out to be very difficult," the coach said.

Ksenia also noted the difficulty of switching to other rules, unlike the international ones, according to which the gymnast performs only seven elements, while she has to do 30, according to the Russian rules.

The young gymnast added that she loves to compete with her teammate Elvira Belyaeva, another Academy student from Gatchina, who will also take part in the selection process.

"We know each other's difficulties. Whoever performs the best, will get ahead," Ksenia said.

Ksenia Savinova took first place in the all-around among juniors at the Zhong Ling Cup tournament in Beijing, became the best in the exercises with a hoop, clubs, ball and without an object. She also received a special award for the best choreography at the gala show.
