Alesya Naifonova from Vladikavkaz won a gold medal in the junior all-around at the Russia-China Games.Her coaches are Alina and Irina Gusarova, and her choreographer is Ekaterina Belova.Second place went to Russian Alexandra Kiryushina. Sofia Dubrovina achieved the third result, but according to the tournament rules, no more than two gymnasts from one country can be on the podium, so Sun Yitong from China won the bronze medal.Alesya is in the roster of the Russian national team, lives and trains at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.

Alesya Naifonova won gold at Russia-China Games

The rhythmic gymnastics tournament at the Russian-Chinese Games is held according to the Sky Grace International Association rules. Judge Olesya Sadokhina told what their special feature is:<blockquote>"The Sky Grace rules are different from the international rules of rhythmic gymnastics in that they include a first element, a combined element. Gymnasts perform more complex body movements, which is much more spectacular for spectators and helps showcase the gymnasts' talents and unique abilities. I think this is fantastic."</blockquote>The specialist also shared her expectations from the competition in Kaliningrad:<blockquote>"First and foremost, we'll see beautiful, talented athletes from both countries. There will certainly be an exchange of experiences among the children, coaches, and judges. It's very important to maintain this athletic friendship, because our gymnasts have begun to compete on the international stage, so now every competition where gymnasts from other countries compete is especially important."</blockquote>In addition, Olesya Sadokhina noted the strengths of the Academy's gymnasts:<blockquote>"As a coach, a spectator, and a judge, I can speak highly of the group exercises team represented by the Sky Grace team. They are currently the Russian youth team. The girls train at the Sky Grace Academy and come from all over the country. They are undoubtedly incredibly talented, very beautiful girls. The coaches who train them are experienced, strive to achieve the highest results, and are incredibly talented. That's why this team is my favorite. I love them very much. The girls won the Russian Championship, and earned the right to compete here on this floor. We wish them good luck and obedient apparatus. The individual program includes gymnasts from Omsk, Ulyanovsk, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and the Yaroslavl Region. I really like gymnast Alesya Naifonova. She's the youngest of the individual program gymnasts, but she's already showing incredibly complicated elements. She has beautiful routines and choreography. I'm watching her improve, watching her grow. She's just taken part in podium training, and she's showing incredibly complicated turns."</blockquote>

Let's take a look at the format of the European Championship in Varna.<h4>Individual All-Around, Seniors:</h4><ul><li>Each country may compete with one to three gymnasts, who will perform a maximum of eight routines. A gymnast's three best scores will qualify for the individual all-around qualification.</li><li>The Top-20 gymnasts from the qualifications advance to the all-around final. They will compete with the hoop and ball, after which only the Top-10 will advance to the clubs and ribbon finals.</li><li>The Top-8 gymnasts in each apparatus will compete in the event finals.</li></ul><h4>Group Exercises, Seniors:</h4><ul><li>Teams will perform two routines: 5 balls and 3 hoops/2 pairs of clubs.</li><li>The all-around winners will be determined by the sum of the two events. The Top-8 teams in each event will advance to the individual event finals.</li></ul><h4>Team Competition, Seniors:</h4><ul><li>The winner is determined by the sum of 10 scores: 8 scores in the individual routine + 2 scores from the group routines.</li></ul><h4>Juniors:&nbsp;</h4><ul><li>One to four gymnasts compete per country, performing four events in total.</li><li>The Top-8 in each event will advance to the finals.</li><li>The junior team competition is based on the results of all four events (important requirement: at least two different gymnasts must compete).</li></ul>
