"I want to perform as soon as possible!" Miroslava Monina talks about the preparation for competition in Barnaul
Academy student Miroslava Monina from Penza is finishing up preparations for the international competition that will be held as part of the "Dynamo for Russia’s Children" festival in the capital of the Altai Territory.
She shared how training is taking place under the guidance of coach Zlata Tulubayeva ahead of the tournament.
"The last time I competed was at the Russian Championships, in early February. I already really miss competitions and want to compete in Barnaul as soon as possible. Zlata Stanislavovna and I are working on all types every day, without an object, clubs, ball and hoop," Miroslava said.
Miroslava shared the details of preparing a hoop program according to FIG rules.
"I’ve got a program with a hoop, at the very beginning there are three somersaults and an exit into the rear. It’s necessary to place the hand at the point so that it flies high and right into the hand, so that it’s possible to get into the rear and turn well," she said.
The gymnast also talked about how to gather herself after a mistake during a performance.
"You need to take the hoop, not think about the bad, you need to think only about the good and continue with the program, try to do everything even better. The girls and I support each other every evening, we talk about how not to worry," she said.
From May 3 to 9, Barnaul will host the international rhythmic gymnastics festival "Dynamo for Russia’s Children" with the participation of students from the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
