Novosibirsk gymnasts prepare for the international tournament in Minsk at the Academy

Athletes who will represent the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy at the international tournament in Minsk, continue to prepare for the competition.
Kristina Voitenko came to Sochi from Novosibirsk along with two other gymnasts, Olga Chernykh and Valeria Medvedeva. The athletes presented themselves well at the training camp and at the assessment training session, and are staying at the Academy until the tournament in Belarus. According to Kristina, they are looking forward to competing with gymnasts from different countries.
"I am very happy, because the competition in Minsk is an international tournament. It's a very good experience", she said.
At the Academy, athletes do run throughs and finetune their programs according to international rules under the guidance of coaches Olesya Kovaleva and Olga Frolova.
Kristina noted that special attention in preparation is paid to artistry.
"Somewhere the risk has become more complicated, in some places in the music you need to speed up or slow down. Here you need to work very well with emotions, because artistry is now highly valued", she said.
In addition, the athlete said that, once she arrived at the Academy, she began to pay great attention to proper nutrition.
"Here they help us monitor nutrition so that we don’t get out of shape, so we don’t gain weight and at the same time we don’t get exhausted. It helps to keep a steady weight and to have the energy to work", Kristina said.
The international tournament in Minsk will be held August 2-7.
