That year, future Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva and Irina Chashchina performed in the senior program in Tokyo, while Olga Peskisheva performed with the juniors.In 2001, the gymnasts of our country won all the possible gold medals at this tournament. Alina Kabaeva and Olga Peskisheva were the first in the all-around in their categories, and together the athletes won the team gold. In 1997, Tokyo hosted this tournament for the fourth time. Natalia Lipkovskaya, Yana Batyrshina, and Amina Zaripova represented Russia in the seniors category. Future Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva, as well as Elena Sidorenko performed among the juniors.Our gymnasts won two gold medals in the individual event at these competitions. Future Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva stepped onto the AEON Cup mat for the first time in 1996. She competed in the junior category and won. After that, she won the tournament six more times — a year later in the junior category, and then five times among the seniors.In the senior category, Russia was represented by Yana Batyrshina and Amina Zaripova in 1996, as at the previous competitions. The groups are led by Elizaveta Chernova, Ekaterina Lots and Zlata Tulubaeva.

Following the successful performance of our gymnasts at the AEON Cup World Club Championships, we decided to remember everyone who represented Russia at this tournament over the years.In 1995, these competitions were held for the second time.
