Eva Chugunova from Ulyanovsk became a student at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy. In July, the gymnast took part in the selection, and now she has come to live and train in Sochi.
After arriving at the Academy, the young gymnast talked about how she spent her summer.
"After the assessment training, we rested; we had a vacation. Then we were preparing for the Labour Reserves competition to qualify for the Young Gymnasts competition. I was training in Ulyanovsk for the Young Gymnasts after that. I had qualified, performed, and arrived here," Eva said.
The athlete’s coach Maria Sheyanova shared her emotions and said that she would miss her student.
"I have been coaching Eva from a very young age. Certainly, this is very emotional for me because I actually have gotten used to this child and she has gotten used to me. We have a very good relationship. Nevertheless, I think that I probably would not be able to give her more as a coach. And here, the conditions are good, and the coaches are excellent, and everything is in place for her to develop further and perform much better. It will certainly be hard for me to walk into the hall in Ulyanovsk and see that she is not there, so I will miss her a great deal," Maria said.
Eva Chugunova has already started training at the Academy and began practicing programs ahead of the competitions.
