Elizaveta Zorkina joined the coaching team of the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
She decided to share her experience with young gymnasts after ending the sport career.
Elizaveta told us about the start of a new stage in her career:
"I finished off in October, announced the end of the career in November. During this time, I recovered a little at first, got back on my feet, realized that sports had already taken a backseat. Now I need to move on, life does not end. I decided that I need to do something. I contacted Alina Kabaeva, she said, come, let's talk. I was completely shocked that I would have an opportunity like this to work here, to be part of the team."
She also explained what she likes in the Academy:
"I really like healthy relationships with children - that’s the message. Everything is there to develop children in sports. I like the approach — it’s individual to each child. I really wanted to try working as a coach here. I work together with Elizaveta Chernova; I hope we'll work well together. I'm going to learn a lot from her, because she already has coaching experience, and I'll just have to learn. I watch and repeat."
Elizaveta Zorkina is the two-time winner of the European Junior Championships, winner and medalist of the CIS Games, and prizewinner of the BRICS Games as part of the Belarusian national team.
