Tatiana Kolesnikova, the Academy Director, told us about the preschool children educational program based on the Alina Kabaeva’s thesis

The educational program for preschool children in the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy rests on the Ph.D. thesis of the Olympic champion.

Academy Director Tatiana Kolesnikova told us in detail about the program of studies. 

"We are opening the Sky Grace Academy for the first time for our small children, for young students. The program was specifically developed on the basis of the Alina Kabaeva’s thesis, on her fundamental research. The program for preschool fostering of children was also created. There will be not merely rhythmic gymnasts and choreography — there will b special studies in the class. We will practice logic, theatrical mastery, sensing and mathematics, that is, provide comprehensive development for our children."

She also explained the benefit of such studies for young athletes in the Academy.

"I believe that attention switching from the sport to thinking will give us a lot in terms of coordination of movements and the creative perception of the artistic image, which is very important for rhythmic gymnastics. Such relationship will provide them with more time in the future to practice rhythmic gymnastics exactly because they will have early cognition of fundamental sciences, and thus it will be even easier for them to study in school. Our gymnasts have good grades all along, so we will have here one more new area. We want to do such studies because this is something new; nobody has ever made that."

Budget-funded additional educational groups for preschool children with the focus on rhythmic gymnastics and English will kick off in September.
