Nutrition expert Anna Turusheva delivers a lecture for young gymnasts of the Academy

Nutrition specialist Anna Turusheva gave a lecture for young athletes during the training camp in the Academy, where she explained the effect of the diet on workouts and the recovery process. 

“Athletes and individuals proactively engaged in sports activities should have more carbohydrates and proteins in their meals. The ration must nevertheless be balanced. It should comprise vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and dairy products,” she said.

The mealtime is a specific feature of a diet for athletes.

“The key mistake is not to eat before exercises. Individuals also exist that do not eat for two hours after the workout in order to shed weight. They do not drink water, eat irregularly, and make big intervals. On the contrary, all such things lead to a weight gain and overnutrition”. 

Young athletes that came to the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy from all Russian regions had the opportunity after the lecture to ask the nutrition specialist questions of interest for them.
