Cuban gymnast Isabella Rojas took part in the assessment training session under the guidance of Academy specialists to polish her skills before an important event — the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro.The gymnast's coach is Nely Borras.The competitions in Brazil will be held from August 20 to 24.

Cuban gymnast Isabella Rojas completed a control training session at the Academy

Mariia Borisova, the gymnast of the Sky Grace International Association topped the list in the all-around, in the ball and the ribbon routines, and also won silver in the hoop at the competition in Dalian. The gymnast explained, what her new program with the hoop to the music of Georgy Sviridov is dedicated to:<blockquote>"I feel it, like a snowstorm that turns destinies upside down. It gets in the way of love, you could say. Probably some kind of tragic story, that's how I feel it."</blockquote>The athlete also told how the Chinese public welcomed her:<blockquote>"There were fans in the stands who supported us very warmly, encouraged us during the performances. And they came up to take pictures afterwards, gave us presents, some popular Chinese toys. It was very nice."</blockquote>Furthermore, Masha shared her impressions of workouts started at the Novogorsk base:<blockquote>"Now I am training at the base in Novogorsk, working on programs. We are also looking at what can be improved, refined, made even cleaner, even more stable. I will continue the season in a good mood!"</blockquote>The gymnast's coach is Irina Gusarova; Elena Egorova is the choreographer.

A training session with preschoolers was held at the Martial Arts Academy under the guidance of coach Evgeny Ivanov. After that, the specialist told in more detail about the training plan for the new academic year:<blockquote>"The guys have a plan for this year, we are gradually bringing them up to hold throws. And next year they will already be taking the yellow belt. Accordingly, in order to take the yellow belt, they need to learn four holds on the ground and four throws in the standing position. A hold in judo means that you need to hold your opponent, your partner, on his shoulder blades. And in judo, this assessment is a complete victory. If you hold someone on the ground for 20 seconds, then it is considered a complete victory. The same as if you did a throw in a standing position, then this is a victory."</blockquote>He also noted the progress of the young athletes:<blockquote>"Today we studied two throws. The first throw we had was a hold throw over the hip, and the second throw we had was a throw hooking the shin from the inside. I liked how the guys practiced the hip throw in the standing position. Overall, I think they did very well today."</blockquote>

At the Star Ripple Cup International Grand Prix in Dalian, Yana Zaikina and Ksenia Savinova won nine medals in the juniorы program.Yana came in second in the ribbon, hoop and clubs routines and third in the all-around, while Ksyusha won the routines without an apparatus and with a ball, second in the all-around, and third in the hoop and ribbon routines. Their coaches are Elizaveta Chernova, Evgeniya Eliseeva and Olga Minigalina.
