The touching jump (according to the rules - "tapping") is one of the basic elements in rhythmic gymnastics. The little ones start with it and, gradually growing up, learn more and more of its variations.
Touching is a shape that represents the position of the front leg during flight. The leg should be bent as much as possible at the moment when the gymnast shows the splits. The athlete seems to touch the thigh with the heel, hence the name.
The simplest version of the jump is rarely seen in competitions. As a rule, gymnasts add complications to it: positioning the back leg in the ring, bending, turning before the jump, changing legs.
Thus, Olympic silver medalist Dina Averina performs the famous kick of the hoop while jumping while touching the jump, bending over with a turn. This jump can also be done in a series. A participant in the "Sky Grace" tournament, Maria Borisova, for example, jumps three times in a row: on the first she throws the mace, the second she makes under the throw, and on the third she catches it.
