Russian Judo Team Arrives at Martial Arts Academy

The Russian Judo Team has arrived at the Martial Arts Academy. The athletes are trained by the champion and prize winner of the Russian Championships, silver prize winner of the 2012 European Championship Grigory Sulemin.

After the lesson, he introduced us to the training process.

"We are currently holding a preparatory training camp for the World Championship, which will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, October 2 to 5. And here we have the best judokas, male and female, from all over Russia. They are already Russian champions, Russian prize winners, they have already traveled to Kazakhstan for an international tournament and won medals there," Grigory said.

He explained in more detail what the athletes are currently working on during training.

"We were analyzing a fragment - back from the knees. It is called Seoi nage in Japanese terminology. Well, we were simply correcting the technique, bringing it to perfection, accordingly, we still need to work and work there," he said.

Grigory also assessed the conditions in Sirius.

"The conditions are the best we've ever had. An athletic facility like this, , food, comfortable rooms, a swimming pool, a sauna. You don't need anything else. Everything is ideal for preparing for the top level competitions," he said.

At the Martial Arts Academy, athletes are preparing for the World Championship among junior men and women under 21, which will be held in Dushanbe in October.
