Russian Grandmaster Sergey Karyjakin spoke with Knowledge Day guests at the Martial Arts Academy.
"Chess is a great game, and I indeed recommend it to all children. It will help you in the future, whatever you are doing, to count many steps forward. Never quit, never be sad, never give up. Even if something is not right in one game, you can still win then nevertheless," he said.
And a young participant of the festival, Alyona Belyaeva, shared her emotions from playing with the Grandmaster.
"He did not play full force; he let me win. It turned out to be the draw; I had to move the king again and again because I could either lose advantage or be mated. What I liked the most is that I got to play with the champion," Alyona said.
