"We train in excellent conditions!" Elena Chizhova talks about the training camp for Belgorod gymnasts at the Martial Arts Academy

Gymnasts from Belgorod continue to work at the Martial Arts Academy training camp.

The athletes train under the guidance of Elena Chizhikova, Russia’s honored coach and the first coach of the Olympic champion in group exercises Natalia Zueva.

The coach shared details of the training process.

"We have about 200 gymnasts from Belgorod in Sirius now. We are practicing in excellent conditions. Four sites, four mats. Place and time are enough for everyone. The work is very fruitful. We are preparing for the all-Russian competitions. Some of us will depart as early as in September to the Russian Cup, our group exercise gymnasts, to qualify for masters of sport," Natalia said.

She also shared what the gymnasts are learning and what competitions they are getting ready for.

"We are now working on basic elements in our exercises, on risks, and on skills. And we want to enhance our skills, having seen new elements, skills and risks, how children take these risks a new, learn with girls and accordingly have a good performance at all-Russian competitions: at Young Gymnasts, at Hopes of Russia, at the Russian Cup, and at the Championship of the Central Federal District," she said.

The training camp for the athletes was organized by the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, the Martial Arts Academy and the administration of the Sirius federal territory.
