What was the master class by Olympic medalist Tamerlan Bashaev like? A five-year-old judoka and her mother tell us

As part of the judo festival in Sirius,  Olympic medalist Tamerlan Bashaev gave a master class, and Olga Olenberg and her daughter Vika attended it.

After the training, Olga shared her impressions with us.

"This is our third time here.  We are very impressed. The children are happy to study. They like the master classes with the champions, the children are simply delighted with all of this. They like the opportunity to get an autograph and bring it back to their hometown," she said.

Olga also noted the importance of holding events like that, as they fill people with the spirit of victory.

"It is important not only for young and old athletes, but also for their parents. Because parents see what their children are doing, what they are good at, what they are not good at, so they can help them develop their abilities in the future. And the fact that there is an opportunity to come here with the whole family, to this wonderful place, and soak up this athletic spirit, to gain strength for victory. It is very important for children," Olga said.

Five-year-old judoka Vika took an autograph from the Olympic medalist and defeated him in sparring.

Olga noted that her daughter really enjoyed the master class.

"These opportunities for children — to be in this hall, to train, to see our Russian team, to learn from their experience and to achieve victories. They had a chance to wrestle the champion, Vika wrestled twice because she didn’t win the first time. And she asked for a chance to wrestle again. She won the second time," the mother said.
