"Children get to know the judo etiquette." Coach Evgeni Ivanov talks about the selection to the Academy of Martial Arts
Coach Evgeni Ivanov told us how future judoka were tested for coordination and dexterity after the end of the first day of selecting to preschool education groups of the Academy of Martial Arts.
"We are recruiting into an elementary judo group, preschool, this is general physical training with elements of judo. We look at the kids. It’s not recommended that children under the age of seven years do throws, so for now it’s just preparation: children get to know the judo etiquette, learn what judo is, and we identify qualities such as flexibility, dexterity, and coordination."
He noted that the selection would be summarized in late August, after the end of all the reviews.
"Based on the results, at the end of August we will select the children who will be enrolled into the Martial Arts Academy."
Additional education groups for preschoolers with the focus on sambo and judo will start their activities on September 2.
