This month, Varvara Toporova from the Republic of Kalmykia and Arina Kovshova from the Novosibirsk Region joined the Academy team, and the Russian judo team won 18 medals at its first international competition.
Our gymnasts also:
• returned from the New Year holidays;
• attended the Nutcracker ballet;
• trained in Novogorsk under the guidance of Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva and the head coach of the Russian national team, Tatyana Sergaeva;
• learned a lot in a session with psychologist Irina Kozyr;
• continued preparing for the new season at the Academy with Alina Kabaeva and her coaches.

During one of her training sessions, Alina Kabaeva drew attention to the difficulties Eva Kononova from the Tyumen region was facing in a ribbon exercise. The Olympic champion demonstrated a variation of the stand-up and throw and offered tips on how to achieve a comfortable and stable execution.

Our senior group exercise gymnasts, Nelli Reutskaya, Nicole Andronchik, Sofia Sokolovskaya, Zlata Remchukova, and Alina Proschalykina, presented new routines with hoops and clubs, and also with five balls. Irina Zenovka staged the productions.
