Milena was brought to the sports by her mom, when she was just three years and a half. She started practicing in the city of Shakhty; then she trained in Rostov-on-Don with Adel Esipova and Irina Stupnikova. She returned to Shakhty after that and made the transfer to Eleonora Sorokina.
Milena took a pause in her career and left the gymnastics for equestrian sports but returned then and became the student of the Olympic school in Rostov.
