When the parents brought the girl to Irina Gusarova for a workout first time, it turned out that she did not draft a group of such age. The girl nevertheless dreamed of going in for rhythmic gymnastics and held Irina Nikolaevna tight, reluctant to leave. That is how their joint life in the sport started.
Mariia had her hoop broken in two at the St. Petersburg championships in 2021 during the performance. However, the gymnast kept her wits, took a spare apparatus and continued the performance.
