"I was preparing myself to have fun on the floor." Mariia Borisova sums up the results of Russia's Youth VI Summer Spartakiad

The Academy gymnast from St. Petersburg Mariia Borisova summed up the results of her performances at Russia’s Youth VI Summer Spartakiad, which took place in Penza from June 21 to 26.

The athlete assessed the level of responsibility at this competition.

"In fact, this is a very important competition for St. Petersburg, for our city's team. Because the first two days of the competition were team events and team medals were at stake. Therefore, we had to get together from the very beginning and help our city," Mariia said.

Masha also noted the importance of support.

"I heard the support of the team from St. Petersburg. Girls, a great big thanks to them. They were shouting even when they were warming up for the performance, and it really encouraged me. I am really grateful to them for that," she said.

In addition, the gymnast spoke about her mood before these competitions.

"In fact, I was preparing myself to have fun on the floor, to show the image, to open up in the music and to enjoy performing. And that's what helped me. And, perhaps, yes, I don't have as much strength as in the beginning of the season, but still, when I need to, I can pull myself together,"  the gymnast said.
