Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Congo in St. Petersburg Jocelyne-Patrick Mandzela underscored importance of cooperation between the Academy and the Federation of Gymnastics of the Republic of Congo.In addition, he thanked Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva for organizing the training camp for athletes Nkenko-Sita Davina Shanselvi and Malanda Mainga Messi Celeste:<blockquote>"With deep gratitude, we note the third internship of gymnasts from the Republic of Congo in the federal territory of Sirius, at the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy."</blockquote>According to him, this is the result of fruitful cooperation between the Alina Kabaeva Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, the international non-profit organization Africa Centrum and the Gymnastics Federation of the Republic of Congo.The Honorary Consul noted that thanks to this cooperation, interest in gymnastics in the Congo has grown significantly. Isabella Rojas from Cuba told how she is preparing at the Academy for the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro:<blockquote>"I came here to prepare for the World Championship. This will be my first time participating in the World Championship. Cuba has not participated in the individual championship for a long time. We were invited and they helped us a lot. I come here because I really like working with the coaches, the choreographer. They will help me improve the artistic part. The coaches who prepared me before worked a lot on the performance purity, placement of accents, correspondence to the music."</blockquote>The gymnast noted the progress after training in Sirius:<blockquote>"When I go to competitions or return to Cuba after training here, I see my progress. The coaches change and improve my program. Everyone helps me, and I feel very good here. The athletes are very friendly. And every time I go back to Cuba, of course, I miss the athletes, the training. In fact, I really like the people here and the way they treat me."</blockquote>The competition in Brazil will be held from August 20 to 24.
