Academy coach Olga Frolova speaks about her work as deputy chief judge at the Sky Grace Cup
Academy coach Olga Frolova was the deputy chief judge at the all-Russian Sky Grace Cup tournament.
After the end of the competition, she shared with us the details of working according to the rules of the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association.
"The competition was very intense as regards judging because the competition is strong, the strongest girls came from all over Russia and were rated somewhat with the same tenths, even the hundredths were similar," she said.
The coach spoke about controversial issues that arose during the competition.
"We had a disputable moment for juniors, with the ribbon. Questions arose regarding ribbon handling because according to rules of the Sky Grace Association, ribbon handling should be more thorough, with pictures from four to five snakes. Not all the gymnasts did it; there were also mistakes in skills. The video replay system was needed for that. Having judged the entire stream, we reached the unanimous opinion," Olga said.
Olga Frolova also announced the upcoming competition.
"Qualification took place at the Sky Grace now. The three strongest teams will be eligible for the international competition in Minsk. We will see performances of Russian gymnasts, the strongest teams there," she said.
