"We have been preparing for this for a very long time!" Alina Kabaeva about the start of the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association
Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva spoke about the start of interregional competitions according to the rules of the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association.
"We are very glad that the International Sky Grace Association organizes competitions like this in districts, interregional competitions, where children will be selected and compete in all-Russian competitions. We’ve launched the process, as they say. The first competition is in Novosibirsk. We have been preparing for this for a very long time, writing our own rules for three years. And, of course, these rules provide an opportunity for a gymnast to show her potential and make our favorite sport even more spectacular and beautiful. And I am very glad that another site has become available where children can perform to get ranking. And many thanks to the Ministry of Sports for their support," she said.
The Olympic champion also noted that the choice of the venue was not accidental.
"Over twenty Olympic champions are from the Novosibirsk region. And our first competition is in Novosibirsk. Competitions will be held in all districts, and the children are preparing. I am very glad, there are a lot of participants. We are waiting for the strongest at the All-Russian competitions in Sochi," she said.
Interregional competitions, which take place in Novosibirsk from March 18 to 20, are held by the International Sky Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association, whose President is Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva.
