How does the video replay system work at the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association competitions? Judge Marina Specht shares

Marina Specht, chief judge of the interregional tournament of the Siberian Federal District and Far Eastern Federal District and executive director of the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association summed up the results of the tournament and talked about how controversial issues in the judging process were resolved.

"The judging took place without a hinch, in a friendly atmosphere. All the judges were ready for our competition. They went through a seminar. They had the opportunity to listen to the seminar again online. And most of the judges really prepared for the competition, and they studied and learned our rules. There were also controversial moments. This often happens at competitions; at any competition there are controversial moments. Naturally, we needed to resolve them, and several times we resorted to video replay. According to our rules, this is just permissible so that we can truly judge each gymnast," Marina said.

She also explained why the card system was introduced at tournaments.

"I think that with each tournament it will definitely become easier and simpler, we have now introduced a card system. That is, all gymnasts write down their exercise on cards. This is necessary precisely so that judges can switch from other rules, because the cost of many elements is different. We have certain elements that are a little more expensive," the judge said.

The interregional Far Eastern Federal District and Siberian Federal District competition was held in Novosibirsk from March 18 to 20. They were conducted by the Sky Grace International Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs Association whose President is Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva.
