They topped the list together in the team event, with Alina Kabaeva first in the all-around among seniors, Irina Chashchina second, and Evgeniya Kanaeva first among juniors.
That same year, Alina Kabaeva and Irina Chashchina took part in the Olympic Games in Athens. It was here that Alina Kabaeva won the Olympic title, and Irina Chashchina became the silver medalist.
