Gymnasts and coaches of the Academy went for a walk in Budapest

European champion Stiliana Nikolova from Bulgaria spoke about the World Cup stage in Baku and how the season started:<blockquote>"I always really enjoy competing in these tournaments. The venue is gorgeous, the atmosphere is very cozy, and I always enjoy competing here. I've had more time to work on my routines, and everything feels a little more consistent than at my first event. I'd say there are more strong competitors here, since Olympic champion Daria Varfolomeev is competing here, whereas she didn't compete in Sofia. We get along well with all the girls. We appreciate each other's work. We know how difficult it is. So we support each other."</blockquote>The gymnast also noted what she sees as her strengths:<blockquote>"I'd say, to a certain extent, charisma. And the energy I convey."</blockquote>At the tournament, Stiliana won a silver medal with the hoop and also placed third in the all-around and in the ball routine.&nbsp;

&nbsp;The final in the three-hoops and two pairs of clubs routine earned the active Russian group team champions a silver medal at the World Cup in Baku.The team members are Nelly Reutskaya, Alena Seliverstova, Nikole Andronchik, Zlata Remchukova, and Alina Proshchalykina. Their coach is Anna Ustsova, the choreographer is Elena Egorova.Earlier, the gymnasts won a bronze medal in the all-around.The Spanish team took first place, while the Bulgarian team placed third. Our group gymnasts competed under neutral status.&nbsp;Our group gymnasts won not only medals from the World Cup stage in Baku, but also the AGF Trophy for the highest performance score.

Nurlana Mammadzade, Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Secretary General,&nbsp;explains why Baku is considered one of the centers of world rhythmic gymnastics<blockquote>"Representatives from 42 countries, approximately 100 gymnasts, are participating. Starting from this World Cup, the gymnasts are competing for licenses for the next Olympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles. Naturally, this is an additional responsibility for the organizers. Baku often hosts World Cups in Olympic gymnastics. Traditionally, since 2016, we have hosted the World Cups in artistic gymnastics and trampoline every year. And April, spring, is the time for rhythmic gymnastics."</blockquote>Baku will host another major start very soon — the European Cup. She also revealed the details of the tournament:<blockquote>"The first European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup was held in Baku in 2024, and we also hosted it in 2025. The competition will also be held in 2026. The European Cup's format is unique, and therefore generates more interest because it's not the usual format, after qualifying, the Top-8 advance to the final. It also features crossover competitions. That means after qualifying, each group and each individual gymnast has their own opponents. And everyone in the gymnastics community is talking about it with interest."</blockquote>

The Zhemchuzhina Gymnastics Center group gymnasts became the first in the exercise with five pairs of clubs at the Russian Junior Championship among gymnasts aged 12-13.The team members are Maya Anfinogenova, Karolina Panfilova, Taisiya Zakharova, Anna Shpak, and Elizaveta Makushkina. Their coach is Daria Gorbacheva.&nbsp;The gymnasts earned the opportunity to compete in the tournament thanks to the Sky Grace International Association quota.

Academy coach Alina Gusarova told how Veronika Malinina managed to pull herself together after an unsuccessful performance in the all-around final at the Russian Category 1 Junior Championship and take first place:<blockquote>"Veronika Malinina coped with mixed success. There were, of course, some shortcomings. In the all-around, for example, she performed poorly in the first event. But then she pulled herself together. I told her that she had to prove herself, show her, fight. And I wanted us all to see that she was a true athlete. And she went out and performed the remaining three events without any major mistakes. I was very happy about that."</blockquote>The specialist also shared how the control training sessions went:<blockquote>"The test training went well. We did a circuit. We had four first category children. We made them papers, and on each paper we wrote down who would start with which event. What each of the four people drew, each got a different event. And they went through the entire circuit. We judged and helped them, so that they could do well in this competition."</blockquote>And she thanked Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva for her help in preparation:<blockquote>"Many thanks to Alina Maratovna, she always supports us, helps us, we love her very much and are very grateful to her."</blockquote>
