Sirius Federal Territory gymnasts became the best the team competition at the Russian Junior Championship. The team consists of Yana Zaikina, Ksenia Savinova, Elizaveta Geraskina, Kristina Dyupina, Daria Khoroshilova, and Ellina Denisova.Second place went to the athletes from the Moscow team: Eva Chevtaeva, Taisiya Serdyukova, Anna Repina, Ksenia Saliy, Adel Dotsenko, and Maria Tarasikova.And the Central Federal District team made up of Sofia Dubrovina, Anastasia Grineva, Elena Styushina, Olesya Vernigor, Sofia Povarova, and Polina Semenova took bronze.

Academy gymnasts are in the interim Top-3 in the all-around qualification at the Russian Championships. Leading the way is Ksenia Savinova from Gatchina.Yana Zaikina from Volgograd is second, and Alesya Naifonova from Vladikavkaz is third. Also in the Top-10 is Elizaveta Geraskina from Moscow.

Tatyana Ryupina, the senior methodologist at the Talent and Success educational foundation, spoke about the new phase of classes for preschoolers in the free early development groups — the math games.&nbsp;The specialist told how they go and what the children learn:<blockquote>"Rhythmic gymnastics is an early-age sport. Its most active phase takes place&nbsp; during school. Therefore, to ensure our girls are successful not only in gymnastics but also in general education subjects, we actively utilize this preschool period of their development. We work on developing the ability to see the quantity of objects without counting. Firstly, children begin to understand the composition of numbers well; they won't have to memorize them later in school, and the pre-digital period is crucial for developing mathematical precursors. Furthermore, children begin to perform simple math operations in their heads: addition and subtraction. We've developed a series of educational games to help children visualize quantities. We use game equipment and cards with pictures of various toys. Children enjoy this and find it enjoyable."</blockquote>The specialist explained the principle of the game:<blockquote>"For young children, we don't just use cards. We use a soft block, which allows you to change the pictures. Using standard block as dice helps children memorize the locations of the dots. We change the locations of these dots on the blocks faces precisely so that children learn to quickly and easily recognize them. For older children, the rules of the game change. We’ve based it on “hot potato" meaning that the child must not only catch the block, but also quickly name the number of objects."</blockquote>She also noted why such classes are important:<blockquote>"The older they get, the more objects they learn to see. As they get older, they learn to structure the number of objects they see, and thus, they begin to perform their first arithmetic operations, such as addition, automatically. The educational games we've developed are producing results. The next step we're planning is comparison: more, less; how much more, how much less; and what the sum of the two cards will be."</blockquote>

Maria Borisova competed in the all-around at a World Grand Prix tournament for the first time in her career. At the competition in Marbella, she placed ninth in the all-around and advanced to the event finals in hoop, clubs, and ribbon. The competition continues on March 22.Our athlete's coach is Irina Gusarova, and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva also assisted her in her preparation.The Top-3 places were taken by Ukrainian Taisiia Onofriichuk, Takhmina Ikromova from Uzbekistan, and Polish gymnast Liliana Lewinska.

Arina Kovshova shared her impressions of her performance at the SKA Arena:<blockquote>"It was a very large-scale hall, it was big, there were a lot of spectators, everyone was supportive. Thank you very much to everyone. There were a lot of participants, the competition was huge, and I tried to present myself well and perform well."</blockquote>The Russian champion noted which exercise she liked the most:<blockquote>"For me, it's probably the ball that I like the most. I like performing the ball most. In general, I like the exercise, the whole composition."</blockquote>She also said that she helps her during the competition:<blockquote>"During the competition, the spectators, of course. They were supportive, and that helps me. Thank you very much."</blockquote>And she emphasized that it is important not to stop there:<blockquote>"Not everything worked out during this competition, but I'll keep working and perfecting it. Now, I'll probably clean up the program, add some elements and movements, so everything counts and counts."</blockquote>

Evelina Tandalova from the Tyumen Region told why she wanted to train at the Academy:<blockquote>"We came here for a training camp in June. I enjoyed training here among the stars. And the coach offered to try."</blockquote>At the Russian Championships, she showed her abilities to Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva:<blockquote>"I did the ball, the hoop there, and showed the elements. I was anxious at first, but then I realized that there was nothing to worry about. And everything was already fine."</blockquote>Evelina remembered how she performed at the Sky Grace Cup International Tournament and Beijing Top Open 2025:<blockquote>"I really enjoyed performing there. True, it was a little scary, because such a large arena was there, plenty of spectators, but I liked it."</blockquote>She also talked about the goals she set for herself after moving to the Academy:<blockquote>"The goal is probably to achieve stability, high results. To see how everyone trains here, to gain a lot of experience from them. I like to practice here, it's so airy, there are not so many people."</blockquote>And she shared her impressions of working with Evgenia Eliseeva:<blockquote>"She is kind, cheerful, always positive. I love working with her!"</blockquote>Evelina thanked everyone who helped her take this step:<blockquote>"I want to thank the Gymnastics Center, where I trained, for giving me the opportunity to come here and try. To my coaches — Irina Alekseevna and Olga Pavlovna. And thanks to Alina Maratovna for watching me.
