Wang Yiduo becomes the first Chinese gymnast to reach the podium at the Sky Grace Cup

At the Sky Grace Cup International Tournament and Beijing Top Open 2025, pre-junior gymnast Wang Yiduo won bronze in the rope routine. She became the first Chinese gymnast to reach the podium at the Sky Grace Cup.
The gymnast shared her emotions from her performance.
"I feel incredibly excited, it is a great honor to stand in this arena. I had three apparatus - the rope, the ball, and the clubs. All of them can convey the beauty of rhythmic gymnastics in their own way. At this tournament, winning a bronze medal, I experienced immense delight and joy," the gymnast said.
Her coach, Xin Yi Qun, spoke about the training process and the specific Sky Grace International Association rules.
"The focus was on the accuracy of execution and details in each routine. Stability and the number of successfully executed elements were also taken into account. The most important thing is that the Sky Grace Cup International Tournament and Beijing Top Open 2025 differs from the usual ones. Its requirements are even higher than those under the FIG rules. Therefore, during the preparation stage, we studied the rules in detail. And the athletes' routines were adjusted according to them. We changed the difficulty and amplitude of the movements. In addition, we refined the technique of working with the apparatus," the coach said.
Veronika Malinina from Russia won gold in the rope exercise, and Ksenia Bondarenko from Belarus won silver.
