At the Sky Grace Cup International Tournament and Beijing Top Open 2025, Mariia Borisova from St. Petersburg noted the importance of a large team involved in preparing for the competition:

"I thought about that in actual fact. Right on the mat — the warrior is alone in the field. But to come out to this mat, a huge team is required, including in the training process. And also this setting up before the performance. So the warrior may be alone in the field, at the first glance, but it is impossible to do without the team."

As a reminder, the gymnast performed with a rope to the song “Lone warrior in the field”.

The athlete also shared her plans to work on after her performance in Beijing:

"Everywhere, where mistakes occurred, there is a need to analyze why it happened so and find the cause. And in the exercises that I made well, this is the ribbon in the all-around, the ribbon in individual events, there were also mistakes in the technical aspect. But this was more confident then from the standpoint of emotions."

At the competition in China, Mariia won three medals, first in the ribbon and rope finals, and second in the all-around competition for seniors. Her coach is Irina Gusarova, and her choreographer is Elena Egorova. Training with Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva also played a significant role.
