Georgy Nechuneev, Technical Director of the Sky Grace Cup tournament, spoke about the preparations at the Qatar arena

The technical director of the international tournament Sky Grace Cup Georgy Nechuneev told what technical tasks are involved in the installation of the competition site in Qatar.

"The idea is to reveal the local culture, the local flavor. To show our tournament in a big city, as if we were present in Qatar, in a square. The specifics of the preparation are very different, for example, from Beijing, from last year, from our sites in Russia, because people use different installation technologies, different technologies in the production of decorations. If we take conventional equipment, then in numbers it is about 50-60 tons." 

He explained how the Russian and Qatari sides interact during its preparation:

"The Qatari side is fully engaged in the production of scenery, stage equipment, lighting, video projection, sound equipment. In other words, the Qatari side provides everything we need. As usual, we prepare the entire project, come up with a set design, a 3D model, develop a technical specification, send it to our colleagues and are already working together on how this will be done, what materials will be."

In addition, the specialist noted that he was following the competitions with interest, and also highlighted the favorites:

"I have loved rhythmic gymnastics since 2014, when I was the technical director of the Alina Festival for the first time. During the event, I am present either in the control room or somewhere downstairs, I am worried. I also have favorites that I support: probably Natalia Usova and Alina Harnasko."
