A participant at the world and European championships, Silva Sargsyan represents Armenia at international level. However, she has close ties with Russia: she was born here and trains in Nizhny Novgorod.
Silva’s mother placed her in gymnastics classes. At the age of four, the gymnast was accepted into the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve №4 in Belgorod region by coach Irina Savkina.
Silva initially represented Russia, but after competing at the Armenian championship in 2017, she was noticed by national coaches. As a result, Silva acquired dual citizenship and began to compete for Armenia.
The gymnast has won the title of Armenian champion in the ball, ribbon, clubs and hoop finals. She also won the national team all-around title on three occasions, in 2017, 2018, 2019.
Silva has already tested her skills at the world and European championships, where she finished 38th and 37th respectively in 2021.
Silva takes part in Russian domestic competitions and competes internationally.
“There are no restrictions. I receive invitations to compete in Russian tournaments and I go there. There are no problems with that, the Armenian federation is not against it,” she said.
Silva finished 5th at the 2021 Sky Grace tournament.
