Leader of the Belarusian national team Alina Harnasko shared her impressions from the Sky Grace Cup in Qatar.
"This tournament has become annual already; it is big, beautiful, and full of spirit as always. But, of course, intrigue lasts until the very end. Because the rules are complicated, unusual. Everyone with a different approach, with a different idea — it is interesting. This is primarily a rivalry. It is great."
The gymnast also told us about the rope routine under rules of the Sky Grace International Clubs Association.
"Of course, the return of the rope is unexpected. This is the second year that I am worried. Last year was especially difficult because my break was one of the longest ones compared to other gymnasts. The last time I competed with the rope was at the 2016 European Championships, when I was still a junior. Afterwards, I completely forgot about it. And then, after a long time, I met with it again. We became friends again. And overall, in Beijing, I was pleased with my performance with the rope and even managed to win it. Now, again, when I haven’t paid attention to it for a whole year, I’m working on my other four programs. And now, at the end of the year, it would seem, I’m thinking again, okay, I can do it, I’ll manage."
Alina Harnasko won five medals at the Sky Grace Cup international tournament in Doha, including three gold ones.
