Deputy chief judge Natalia Simashkevich told us about her work at the tournament for partners of the Sky Grace International Clubs Association
Deputy chief judge at the tournament for partners of the Sky Grace International Clubs Association Natalia Simashkevich from Ulyanovsk told us how judges find a solution in controversial situations and shared her impressions from work.
"The team of judges evaluates, gives their overall assessment. The deputy chief judges also evaluate, each team is supervised separately by them. And if we have a discrepancy in the team, each judge has notes, if there is reason behind it, she explains why. We come to a common denominator, and everything is fine."
The professional also noted that it is more worrying to prepare a gymnast for appearing at the podium than to judge her.
"Honestly, it's easier for me when I'm judging and I don't see what's going on in the warm-up area. What's happening in the warm-up area and what's happening on the floor are two different lives, you could say. And when something doesn't work out off the floor, I worry a lot, but here I don't see it and just wait for the performance. Of course, when you're not leading, it's easier, much easier, simply emotionally."
Natalia Simashkevich came to the tournament for partners of the Sky Grace International Clubs Association held from November 28 to December 1 in Sirius together with trainees from Ulyanovsk.
